Devora Systems — Software Development & Publishing

We build software
and ship the things
we build.

A Canadian firm that takes software from a first conversation to a running production system — and then keeps it running. Client platforms, our own products, published apps and games, and AI with a job description.

§ 02 / 07 Services

Four things we do

Each one funds and sharpens the others. Running our own products is why our client architecture holds up; publishing is why we understand what happens after launch.

§ 03 / 07 Work

Selected work

Most of what we build is covered by confidentiality, so these describe the shape of the work rather than naming the client. The problems are real and so are the constraints.

Replacing a decade of spreadsheets with an operations platform

A mid-sized distributor ran scheduling, inventory, and invoicing across forty interlinked spreadsheets maintained by two people. We replaced them without stopping the business.

How we
work

Full process ↗
  1. Scope

A short paid engagement that ends in a written scope, an architecture proposal, and a fixed price.

If the honest answer is that you should buy something off the shelf, we say so and you keep the document.

  2. Build

Two-week increments, each ending in a staging build you can actually use.

There is no phase where the project disappears for three months.

  3. Ship

Monitoring, alerting, backups, and a rollback plan before anyone calls it live.

We restore from a backup at least once, on purpose, to prove the procedure works.

  4. Operate

A retainer with defined response times, or a documented handover to your own team.

Both are legitimate outcomes. We will not build a dependency you did not ask for.

A small firm, on purpose

Devora Systems works out of Acton, a mill town at the western edge of Halton Region that spent a century as Leathertown — a place whose entire economy was built on making a durable thing well and stamping a mark on it. We are not going to pretend that is a metaphor for software, except that it is exactly the business we are in.

We stay small because the alternative is a firm where the people who sold you the work are not the people who do it. Every engagement has a lead engineer who is in the first scoping call and is still there at handover. When we cannot staff something properly, we say no rather than hiring against a signed contract.
